The Pottawattamie County Jail in Council Bluffs, Iowa was built in 1885 and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The building is a Squirrel Cage Jail, also known as a Rotary Jail. The design and size of the Historic Pottawattamie County Squirrel Cage Jail make it a one-of-a-kind structure. It was one of 18 revolving (“squirrel cage”, "human rotary", or "lazy Susan") jails built. It is the only three-story one ever built.

Interstate Paranormal has visited the jail three times. It is easily one of the most active locations we have investigated to date. While the jail has a tendancy to have quiet spells, suddenly the inmates will start their games and it becomes very active. We were lucky enough to get some very interactive responses and look forward to visiting again!
